About

Imtiaz Hassan

Technical architect and engineering leader. I write and present The Software Lens.

For most of my career I have designed and run software platforms for organisations that cannot afford to get them wrong: enterprise systems, integration estates, cloud migrations and, lately, AI agents on top of all of it. The Software Lens is where I put what I learn from that work, in the open, for anyone who finds it useful.

The series asks one question from several angles: what happens to software architecture when the main user of a system is no longer a person but an AI agent? The answers so far are a delivery model (SaaC, Software as a Capability), an architecture pattern (AIM: Agents, Intelligence, MCP), a learning framework (OKL and the Organizational AI Brain) and a set of patterns for memory, integration and defensibility. Each article has a one-minute summary on top and the full argument underneath.

The book

The long-form treatment, twenty-seven chapters covering SaaC, AIM and the Organizational AI Brain, is available as a paperback, hardcover and Kindle edition on Amazon. Search for The Software Lens by Imtiaz Hassan.

The episodes

Every article has a short video companion on The Software Lens YouTube channel, one question per episode.
